At Gilmer High School, we consider it a privilege to educate the students of Gilmer and recognize the fact that parents have entrusted us with their most prized possession – their children. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for all students to learn on a consistent and fair basis. We believe that education will always be an active partnership linking our school, the student, the home, and the community. A safe, supportive, and disciplined environment is essential to learning and will continue to be a key consideration for our faculty and staff. We believe that our school is a place that prepares students to be lifelong learners. Part of our mission is to recognize and educate each student as a unique individual through nurturing academic, social, and cultural differences. We believe in modeling a strong work ethic and teaching proper consideration for other people. We work hard to foster an atmosphere where high expectations help lead to increased student achievement. We understand our role and responsibility for each student with whom we are entrusted and we will continue to instill a spirit of encouragement in the students that we teach.
